This Liberty ship was named for E. G. Hall (1865-1938). E. G. Hall was the president of the Minnesota State Federation of Labor from 1911-1935. Hall's name was submitted by the Minnesota State Federation of Labor as part of their participation in the Fourth War Loan Campaign.
