for David G. Burnet (1788-1870).
David Gouverneur Burnet was a soldier, frontiersman, and politician. Burnet
participated in filibustering expeditions in South America from 1806-1812.
Burnet was a politician in the early history of the Republic of Texas, serving
as interim President of Texas in 1836 and again in 1841, and Vice President of
the Republic of Texas from 1838-1841.
