Cause Comments
Atik was a Q-ship designed to engage and trap German submarines. On March 26, 1942, U-123 engaged with Atik with a torpedo on the port side. Atik retaliated and fired on U-123, killing a German sailor. U-123 then fired a second torpedo that triggered a massive explosion. The entire American crew purchased.
