for Egbert Benson (1746-1833). Egbert Benson was a lawyer, jurist, and politician. Benson was Attorney General of New York from 1777-1788, a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1789-1793 and in 1813. Benson was also a New York delegate to the Continental Congress and Annapolis Convention.
