This Liberty ship was named for Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865). Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer, politician, and the sixteenth President of the United States. Lincoln was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois from 1847-1849, and President of the U.S. from 1860-1865.
