Cause Comments
Torpedoed by German submarine U-43 while en route from New York, New York, to Belfast, Ireland, as part of Convoy SC-109 on November, 18. Did not sink, but was brought under control by some of the crew and made it safely to Newfoundland, Canada. On January 20, 1943, Brilliant broke up and sank in a heavy sea while being towed to Halifax.
