This Liberty ship was named for Daniel Morgan (1736-1802). Daniel
Morgan was a general in the Continental Army during the American Revolution and
a major general during the Whiskey Rebellion. Morgan was a Member of the U.S.
House of Representatives from Virginia from 1797-1799.
