ELBRIDGE GERRY

Historical Narrative
This Liberty ship was named
for Elbridge Gerry (1744-1814). Elbridge Gerry was a merchant, politician, and a Founding Father of the United States. Gerry was a Massachusetts delegate to the Second Continental Congress, Confederation Congress, and Constitutional Convention.
