for Clara Barton (1821-1912). Clara
Barton was a nurse, teacher, and humanitarian from Massachusetts. During the
Civil War Barton served as a hospital nurse, treating both Union and
Confederate soldiers. Barton was the founder of the American Red Cross in 1881.
