This Liberty ship was named for Dwight W. Morrow (1873-1931). Dwight Whitney Morrow was businessman, diplomat, and politician. Morrow was a partner in J.P. Morgan & Co. Morrow served as U.S. Ambassador to Mexico from 1927-1930, and was a U.S. Senator from New Jersey from 1930-1931.
